Starting from April 2025, visa is required for entry into Brazil. You can apply for a e-Visa through https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/
We strongly recommend you apply for your visa in advance since it takes a few days to be approved.
It costs $80.90 USD for US and Canadian citizens.
TRANSFER
We have outlined below some of the main suggested options for traveling from either of Rio de Janeiro’s airports, Galeão and Santos Dumont:
PRIVATE TRANSFER – CAR OR VAN FROM A SPECIALIZED COMPANY (RIO–BUZIOS)
We recommend contacting MY TRANSFER RIO, a company with over 10 years of experience in executive transportation in the Rio region. Visit their website, provide the date, times, and number of passengers to receive travel details.

RENTAL CAR
Both airports have counters of the main car rental companies in Brazil – Localiza and Movida. You may also book your vehicle in advance directly through their websites before your arrival.
TOURIST BUS RIO – ARMAÇÃO DOS BÚZIOS
Departing from the Novo Rio Bus Station, conveniently located near both airports, you can take a tourist bus to Búzios, with frequent departures. We suggest checking the website of the bus company 1001 (click here) to confirm schedules and ticket prices.

Nope, they don’t speak spanish 😅 the official language is portuguese! you might be using google translate quite a bit, but don’t worry—brazilians are super friendly and will do their best to chat with you. Pro tip: download google translate before your trip to brazil.
